Jesse Denney
(MORE) About Me
Hello! My name is Jesse Denney. You've probably already guessed that by now, seeing as how it's on every page of this website, but introductions are important. Anyway, I'm glad to meet you, and thanks for taking the time to come and visit the site!
(And if I haven't met you yet, there's a whole page for that over HERE.)
I'm a self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades communication professional with a background in media and marketing. I received a B.S. in Media and Communication and an M.A. in Brand and Media Strategy, both from East Tennessee State University. While there, I spent a lot of my time working with student media, specifically with the student-operated radio station. I helped to rebrand the station, develop its brand identity and social media strategy, produced various imaging elements for broadcast, and even fine-tuned the overall format of the station.
I also helped develop various programs for air, including a weekly newscast called The ET Echo that took home second place at the Tennessee AP Awards in early 2020.
I previously worked as a Community Manager with Accelerate360 where I managed the social channels for various authors and thought leaders and helped to develop and implement the social media strategy for ATTA. I've also helped with the launch of seven (7) new books, two of which were featured on the Publisher's Weekly and USA Today Bestseller lists, and one on the New York Times Bestseller list.
I'm currently working as a freelance Community Manager and Social Media Coordinator for Other Half Marketing, a boutique marketing agency that touts itself as being the first speakeasy marketing agency. At OHM, I handle the creation of content calendars, daily community management, as well as some light copywriting (long-form, social, and email) as well as some graphic design and video production.
When I'm not working, you can probably find me hanging out with my wife and kids, listening to a wide variety of podcasts, or playing Dungeons & Dragons. Nerdy, I know, but that just shows you that I'm creative and can think on my feet. I'm also a hockey super-fan in a non-traditional market, which shows that I'm open to new ideas and able to learn new concepts. I spend a fair amount of time on Twitter and TikTok, so I'm in touch with pop culture and on top of the latest trends.
And, honestly, one of my favorite things in the world is to laugh and make people laugh. And I think I could do that with your company.
tl;dr: You're gonna want me for that open role you're hiring for. You can contact me HERE.
